Arches Badminton Club is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. The Club is responsible for storing and using your personal data in a fair, lawful, secure and transparent way.

What personal data we hold about you

Your personal data may include your name, e-mail address, postal address, phone number(s), sex and, for junior members only, date of birth.

How we use your personal data

  •        We hold a list of members with contact details
  •        We contact members about club business – this is normally by email but could be by phone/text if you provide a phone number
  •        We give your details to Badminton Wales so that you can be affiliated
  •        We share your contact details with other members of the club
  •        If you consent, we send you club news and other relevant information by email
  •        If you are a team captain or club officer, we may give your contact details to the Cardiff and District Badminton League and/or a representative of another club

We DO NOT

  •        Put personal data on the club’s website (other than the contact details of the club secretary)
  •        Give your data to any companies for marketing purposes
  •        Supply personal data to any other third party

Non-members

Sometimes we collect contact details from non-members, such as visitors to the club.  These may be collected in person or through the contact form on the club website.  The website form asks for consent to be contacted by the club.

How long we keep your personal data

We hold your personal data on file for as long as you are a member or visitor.  We update your data each year.  If you leave the club, we delete your personal data within a year.

Your rights regarding your personal data

As a condition of membership, we need your name, e-mail address and, for junior members only, date of birth.  This is because we have to provide your details to Badminton Wales so that you can be affiliated, and we have to be able to contact you about club business.

Apart from this, you can choose:

  •        What other personal data you provide (a telephone number is useful)
  •        Whether you receive club news and other relevant information by email

You may contact the Club at any time to

  •        Ask us for a copy of your data
  •        Ask us to correct or delete your data
