Benefits of membership

Members may attend club nights.  These are normally held twice a week throughout the year. Members are eligible for selection to play for club teams in the league and cup competitions. Members may vote at the club’s annual general meeting.

Membership fee reductions

The club has agreed that members may opt to pay a reduced fee if they fall into one of the following categories.  The Committee will keep this under review to ensure a fair balance between members paying full and reduced fees.  If a member’s status changes during the year, the fee will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Couples who do not normally attend club nights together pay an annual fee of £60 for each partner and a subscription fee of £240 to cover both partners.  The total membership fee for a couple is £360.  When both partners attend a club night, an additional fee of £5 is payable on the night.
  • Members who are students in full time education pay half fees (i.e. a total of £150 if they are students for the whole year).
  • Members who are unemployed (eligible to claim Job Seekers Allowance) pay half fees (i.e. a total of £150 if they are unemployed for the whole year).

New members and visitors

Members joining during the year pay a reduced annual fee in proportion to the fraction of the year remaining. Visitors to a club night pay a visitor fee of £5 per night.  During the match season (October-April), visits are usually restricted to players thinking of joining the club.  Over the summer (May-August) potential new members who wish to play regularly may be offered a reduced visitor fee for this period prior to joining the club in September.

Match fee

Players representing the club in a match pay an additional fee of £2 per match. Team captains are responsible for collecting match fees.

Payments

All cheques must be made payable to Arches Badminton Club. All cash and cheques must be given to the Treasurer or another Committee member.
